Phew, Hollywood's worst-kept secret is finally out of the bag. With today's announcement that Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 will be coming to all physical home entertainment formats on August 22, Disney is officially in the 4K UHD Blu-ray business.

Disney was the last holdout among the "big six" studios with the newest format, but relented when Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 director James Gunn practically coerced them to release his latest film on 4K UHD.

As you can see, James let the proverbial cat out of the UHD bag last week, but Disney enforced its embargo on us until today. You can see the full details and artwork for each version below.

Of course, the real question now is whether Disney will release 4K UHD versions for all of their films (and eventually go back to release their more than deserving catalog on the new format), or if this is a one-shot sort of thing. Perhaps we'll get an answer when they announce the home entertainment release plans for Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales on Friday. Stay tuned.
